Grace Victoria Phipps Padilla was born on the 4th of May 1992, in Austin, Texas. She is the eldest child of Kate and Gil Phipps and has a younger brother named Liam Phipps. Born in Austin, Grace moved to Boerne when she was quite young and later went off to San Antonio. As far as academics are concerned, Grace graduated from Robert E. Lee High School’s North East School of the Arts, where she majored in musical theater and graduated summa cum laude. She won the Las Casas Performing Arts Scholarship Competition in 2010 and moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. She was signed by a Los Angeles agent after being impressed by her performance of a tough girl Rizzo in a theater production of the musical Grease. Wanting to explore her academics further, she moved to New York and joined her undergraduate studies in Film and Art History at Columbia University.

After graduating from high school in 2010, Phipps moved to Los Angeles for better opportunities.
